See how the sausage is made.
Branding | Strategy | Design
Despite having been in business for several years, Riccio’s Sausage had remained hidden in an industry crowded with big hitters. With the launch of a fresh, new brand, I helped them punch above their weight. Much like the recipe for their sausage, the key ingredients were uncomplicated: listen carefully, conduct thorough research, develop a clear strategy, and execute with precision. And of course, don’t forget to have some fun along the way – it is sausage after all.
A family brand.
Listening to Stano Riccio tell the story of his family, I knew from the start that the we’d lean heavily on his Italian roots and generations-old sausage recipe. A bold logo, bright colors, and Vespa scooters lent some fun and helped them stand out on the shelves.

Packaging and shipping.
With the identity done, the first order of business was packaging. Where they’d been using two labels per package, we used one wrap-around design, saving time and money. Listing the ingredients on the front underscored the simple, time-honored recipe.

Let’s get digital.
I wrote copy and designed a new website that told their story, pumped their products, and let folks know how to get their hands on some, whether an eater or wholesaler.
